Get inspired by the excitement of Afro-Cuban drumming! Groove with the Classics Philharmonic Orchestra and explore percussive rhythms, identify emotions, and discover connections across cultures. Center for World Music’s internationally recognized teaching artist Juan Carlos Blanco will demonstrate this exuberant dance style while showcasing how community drumming helps focus energy and express joy. Spanish/English narration will deepen the students’ understanding of this art form’s rich cultural history.
Cost-
Title 1 schools: $7 per student
All other schools: $8 per student
Teachers and Aides: Free!
