- We served 184 schools across San Diego County, with 133 of these qualifying as Title 1.
- 88 bus scholarships were awarded to Title 1 schools, ensuring transportation access to our concerts.
- 79 professional artists were employed — including 45 individual musicians, 31 guest artists, and 3 teaching artists — enriching the experiences of our students.
- We provided 43 on-campus assemblies to 6,903 students and teachers with professional musicians from the Classics Philharmonic Orchestra and other partner musical groups.
- Over 405 volunteer hours were contributed by 50 volunteers and 2 interns, reflecting an in-kind service value of over $14,000.
- Our Ukulele Residency Program provided 292 students with hands-on instrument instruction across 15 eight-week residencies.
Teacher Testimonials:
Watching my students’ engagement/movement made me realize that our students NEED to have one performance every year that has music…to enrich their lives and introduce them to things they may not be exposed to. I loved that my wiggliest kids who struggle in class were the kids who were the ones who felt the music in their bodies the most!
We LOVED seeing/hearing the different instruments, participating in the “dance moves”/singing, and recognizing the movie theme songs that each instrument family played while demonstrating that particular type of instrument. Sharon Katz’s energy was infectious and lively. Thank you for having our school this year. We thoroughly enjoyed ALL of the performance!
One of my students said this was the best concert she’s ever been to. Separately, when I asked students who their favorite band is, one of them said “Classics 4 Kids”. This concert was such a special experience for my kids!!
We loved it all. First the students loved the videos you sent prior to the concert to preview what they would be experiencing. The movement options added extra engagement and the painting explanations were wonderful. Finally, the music was amazing. Students in my class have never had an opportunity to attend a theater and listen to live classical music. We are very appreciative of this experience.
